Our Story

The group of fluid mechanics at the University of Extremadura was created in 2000. Its main interest at the time was the dynamics of liquid bridges in microgravity. Then, the group expanded the scope focusing on other flows also driven by surface tension, paying special attention to microfluidics applications.

We make

The production of jets, drops, bubbles and capsules on the micro and nanometer scales in the field of biomicrofluidics has become the main area of interest of our group. The financial support obtained from both the national and regional programs continuously since the research group creation has allowed us to equip a laboratory where varied experiments can be conducted simultaneously.

Our Services

The laboratory offers remarkable capabilities for high-speed imaging in microfluidics. In addition, our group has built a boundary layer wind tunnel to provide services to companies. We also conduct CFD simulations for diverse engineering applications also requested by clients.
