About This Project

The disintegration of electrified drops is studied experimentally. We analyze the role of charge relaxation phenomena during the transient regimen leading to the first ejected drop. We also study the conditions leading to the steady cone-jet mode of electrospray, and its behavior at the minimum flow rate. We examine the breakup of the emitted jet in this limit.
